Robert Burns

mood: a bit tired
music: Dixie Chicks ~ Home
I bought me a new book: collected poems - written by Robert Burns.

Do you know him? Like him?

Well, I do like him though!

Here is one of my favorites!

O MY LUVE'S LIKE A RED, RED ROSE

by: Robert Burns (1759-1796)

MY Luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June.
O, my Luve's like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I,
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun!
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only luve,
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho' it were ten thousand mile!

haha! I remember this poem. I did work with it when I was in high school, and many other of Robert Burn's work. This poem though he made everyone in the class get up and read it in a scotish accent. Lucky for me, I am scottish (amoung many other things) so that was easy for me. :p It is a nice poem, and it really does have to read allowed in that accent for it to make sense.
