Diner at the Brunswick's

As I already mentioned it on Saturday, the Friday evening at the Brunswick's home was very nice.

Greg has already written a short entry on what happened at the beginning of the evening. So let me continue now ...

When we finished the salad Mary and Mrs. Brunswick went into the kitchen, Mr. Brunswick took me outside to show me some alterations he did at his house.
"So this is your colleague?" Mr Brunswick suddenly asked me when I was looking up the second balcony he has attached to the house. "Mhmmm" I said and gave him a side glance. He was standing there and looking at me. "I know you, Jim, so what are you keeping behind?" I rubbed my neck and blushed slightly. "It was never easy to fool you" I said and coughed. He grinned "Well, I know you since you were a nipper. Your father was a wonderful friend, James", he said and patted my shoulder. I nodded and he continued "Nathan is good for Ruth as well and he is a good stepfather for ya."

"Yes he really is" I answered and looked at the stars above. "So boy, will you tell me?" he asked. My eyes found his again and I couldn't hide a grin "He is my husband." Mr. Brunswick's jaws dropped slightly but then he started to laugh. "This my dear, is a big surprise. Is he good for you? Does he take care?", "He is good for me and yes, he takes care", I said and stared at my feet.

He laid his arm around my shoulder "What about some good old single malt and a cigar now? I really need one now" he murmured. I looked up again and grinned "This is a very good idea!" Still having his arm around my shoulder we went in the house and proceeded to the living room. Mary gave me a look from the kitchen "Main course will be ready in half an hour" she said and we both nodded. Mr. Brunswick handed me a cigar and looked outside "Your ... ehm... they are outside. Just go and accompany them" he said. "You are fine?" I asked and gave him a questioning look. "Sure I am. Just go, boy" and he patted my shoulder again. I gave him a nodd and went outside.

Finn and Greg were talking when I came outside and Greg looked up and his eyes were shining warmly. My stomach made a slight loop at the very look of him. Finn turned to me and whispered "Jim, I don't now what to say. But your friend is fetching!" I grinned and thought "Fetching? Oh yes he is!" and turned to Greg.

"Greg, darling, Finn thinks you're fetching!" Greg smiled. "Oh, does he?" I nodded and Finn looked blank. "You're very good friends, aren't you?"
"Inter alia", I imitated Greg and put my arm around Greg's waist. "He's my husband", I said with a broad smile upon my face and looked into Finn's eyes. Finn looked at me with big round eyes and went slightly pale. "You are kidding" he gasped. Greg and I shook our heads simultaneously. "Nope" said Greg and I could see that he was more than pleased that I had told it. "But ... but I thought you are straight!" Finn stammered. I just shrugged "So did I until I fell in love with him. You can't control your emotions" and with these words I looked deeply in Greg's eyes. Greg winked and drew me closer "No, you can't control your emotions" he whispered and kissed me softly.

After we parted I turned to Finn again who was watching us carefully. "God, you are not kidding." he said and then started to smile. "Since when are you married?"
"Since the 21st of November!" we both answered and then started to giggle. Finn looked from one to the other and then approached "Congratulations then. Well, I am a bit disappointed by now. But all the luck on earth for you, boys" and we shook hands. He embraced me and whispered in my ear "He is really cute, Jim. Damn I haven't met him before" and patted my shoulder blade. I whispered back "Not for me, pal!"
We grinned at each other and the balcony door opened. Mary looked at us "Ah, you told him? Huh? Fine let's eat now!" Finn turned to his sister "You already knew it? Why haven't you told me?" he hissed. Mary shrugged "Funnier that way" and Greg began to laugh.

I grinned and shook my head, Greg bent to me "I like her. She is so plain." "Yes I knew you'd like her." I answered and held the door open. "C'mon lets have a nice evening" Mary said and we all went in again.
