Cushions ...

Back in the office I am!

Currently sitting at my desk and seeing through all the files: breast cancer, inflammatory mamma carcinoma, choriocarcinoma and a poor guy with glioma. This means many testings and a bunch of work ...

I have some appointments in the afternoon as well - and I have to find a doctor replacing Allenby ...

This morning I figured out that a chair can be very very hard ...

I went from the soft and comfortable sofa into the bathroom, showered and made all those things you have to do ... Greg replaced me in the bathroom and I got into the bedroom, grabbed me some clothes (it means tie today) - and went into the kitchen to pour me some coffee, I just wanted to sit down and read a news article - and dropped the mug ... "Damn this hurts ...".

I jumped up and looked at the mess I'd caused. "How can wood be so uncomfortable" I muttered and cleaned the mess afterwards. Afterwards I grabbed a cushion from the living room and placed it on the kitchen chair. I was just about sitting down again when Gregory entered the kitchen. "Um...everything okay?", he asked and looked at me and the cushion. I nodded and couldn't avoid grunting "Just..try yourself." Gregory fetched his coffee mug and sat down. "Hnnngh!"

"See?", I said with a grin. "We better take these cushions to work."

"Uhuuu", was the only thing he said. Few minutes later we packed our things (including the cushions) and drove to the hospital.

At the reception we were greeted by Debbie, who was just standing there "Ah Dr. House, Dr. Wilson - back again" she said with a smile. Gregory just gave her one of his typical looks, signed in and turned to me "See you for a coffee break?", I nodded and handed him his cushion "Don't forget that", he grinned and took the cushion. Debbie was looking at the cushion under my arm "What is that?", I looked up from the file I just grabbed and gave her a puzzled look "Well, I think that is called a cushion!". "I know it is a cushion, but what are you doing with it?" she asked me.

I raised an eyebrow "Thought about re-decorating the office a bit" with these words I turned around and walked to my office, not hiding the grin on my face. Pretty sure, she stood there with a dropped jaw.

The physical of my stab wound wasn't really surprising - it is healing. The stitches look pretty good - if you can say pretty good to a stitched side. Bandage is no longer needed now, I just have to use a special adhesive tape for another couple of days.

Sorry, but I have to work a little now ...

Working... an awful word! I will stay home for the next days. Because I'll be operated tomorrow. :(

Thank you. It's not a big thing. Just for an hour or two... And I'll be home tomorrow afternoon.
